The decision to file for disability was not an easy one. At 53, I knew nothing but working since age 15 and felt like a failure to come to the point where I could no longer do so. I put it off for a few years until the constant pain was taking its toll. I dreaded the fact that I was going to have to meet with a lawyer for advice.
