Social Security Disability

Social Security Disability is a social insurance and support program for people who can no longer work due to a medical condition(s), mental condition(s), or both. Disability affects millions of Americans; it can inhibit your quality of life and severely impair one’s ability to earn a living. While there are numerous conditions that can contribute to someone’s need for Social Security, there are also certain guidelines that can be tough to navigate.

Social Security benefits are designed to help families. Under Social Security, the definition of “disability” can be different than it is for other programs; knowing that definition and meeting that burden of proof can be challenging alone.

Once you’ve been awarded Social Security Disability, the Social Security Administration may want to review your current medical condition after a period of time, to determine if you still qualify for ongoing benefits. Typically, if health has not improved, and the recipient is still prevented from working because of their condition and there is medical evidence to support this claim, they will continue to receive benefits.

You can learn more about Social Security’s disability on the Social Security Administration’s website directly or by contacting our office.

If you’ve read this and wonder if you or someone you know may qualify, please call us at (502) 277-1711 or send as an email. We’d love to help!
