If your Social Security Disability case is pending, you likely received a letter from Disability Determination Services. Like so many offices around the state, the Cabinet for Health and Family Services is practicing social distancing and teleworking whenever possible.
The most important thing to know is that, despite the fact that Disability Determination Services staff are working from home, your case is still in process. As such, it’s possible that you may get a call from your caseworker, and on your phone that call will probably show up as “unknown caller”, “no caller ID”, or “anonymous” instead of a number. If you have any settings on your phone that block unknown callers, make sure to disable that feature so that caseworkers can reach you if they have questions regarding your case.
During this time, processes are going to take a little longer than usual, but rest-assured things are still moving. Of course, if you need help with forms or have questions about anything you’ve received in the mail, feel free to call our office.
